Online & Remote Learning
At The Florence Nightingale Academy we are proud of our remote learning offer. We have worked hard with parents to evaluate the online capacity of all our children and we have been able to provide school loan laptops to families to ensure everyone can access our online learning offer.
Our remote learning curriculum is closely aligned to what children would have been doing in school if they were in attendance. Children in our Key Worker bubbles also complete the same work as children at home. The curriculum will be delivered in a variety of ways: recorded videos, online work, relevant websites or other video clips etc. This means that all children are having the same learning experiences at the same time and we hope that this will make coming back to school when it fully reopens, much easier.
Logins for the different systems have been emailed out to parents. If your login isn’t working or you can’t remember how to log on, please let us know by contacting the school office and they will be able to resend them.

Our main learning tool for everyone in Years 1-6 is Seesaw. Each class has their own portal where class teachers and staff are posting daily learning activities. Children can post work, videos, comments and edit their own work. Staff can also comment on and edit children’s work.

In Foundation Stage (Nursery & Reception children), our online learning is delivered through Tapestry. Staff and parents can login to view work.

Children use Purple Mash for ICT lessons and to embed their computing and digital skills across the curriculum. Staff can set tasks for children to complete in a fun and engaging way.

In school, children also use the Times Table Rockstars app in class to practice their timetables – we have weekly Rock Star Champions displayed in the hall.
